Maine is famous for many things—lobsters, blueberries, lighthouses, majestic coastlines, L.L. Bean, the Bush estate, Stephen King and much more. Did you know that Maine is also known for its highly talented craftspeople, from jewelers and woodworkers to painters and potters?
I’ve always admired the artwork found in galleries throughout Portland, Kennebunkport, and Ogunquit. While I haven’t splurged on an original painting yet, I have found a way to enjoy the work of numerous Maine artists without breaking the bank. Each year I treat myself to one of these beautiful wall and desk calendars.
