There are 3 public beaches in Wells, Maine:
- Wells Beach – White sandy beach with lifeguards and toilet facilities
- Crescent Beach – Located between Wells and Moody
- Drake’s Island Beach – Long sandy beach with a rock jetty and toilet facilities.

rom our Wells vacation rental at Seagull Inn and Condominiums, you can take the Shoreline trolley to Wells or Crescent Beach. It stops at the entrance and runs every 20-30 minutes during the summer.
Drake’s Island Beach is not on the trolley route, but the lesser known option is worth the parking fee. (Note: You may have also heard of Moody Beach in Wells, but it is private.)

If you prefer to drive, there are 5 parking lots for the beaches in Wells:
Wells Beach Parking
1. Mile Road Lot – located at the end of Mile Road
2. Eastern Shore Lot – Follow Mile Rd to the end and turn left. It’s located at the end of Atlantic Avenue overlooking Wells Harbor.
Drake’s Island Beach Parking
3. Gross Lot – Located at the eastern end of Drake’s Island
4. Jetty Lot – Located at the end of Island Beach Rd
Crescent Beach Parking
5. Gold Ribbon Lot – located on Webhannet Drive
